The C. V. Roman Medical Society, a 501(c)(3) organization, is the Dallas-Fort Worth National Medical Association (NMA) chapter. Mentorship

Multiple instances of peer-to-peer interaction with residents and students from UTSW Medical Center, students from TCU Burnett School of Medicine, and students from TCOM-UNT Health Sciences Center. Summer Shadowing opportunities for college and high school students in Society Member’s offices or facilities, and onsite presentations to DISD Career Institute South students to push them to consider medicine.

One of our core missions is to increase opportunities for minority students in science and the field of medicine. By increasing student opportunities, we recognize that we also increase access to and diversity in the medical field. Black trainees make up only 6% of medical school students. By investing in these medical students, you will be giving them an opportunity to further and complete their medical education, thereby developing thriving physicians that will serve the DFW area and beyond.
