The C. V. Roman Medical Society, the Dallas/ Fort- Worth society of the National Medical Association

The National Medical Association (NMA) founded 1895 is the largest and oldest organization representing African American physicians and their patients in the United States.

The NMA is the collective voice of African American physicians and the leading force for parity and justice in medicine and the elimination of disparities in health.  The NMA is the largest and oldest national organization representing more than 60,000 African American physicians and their patients in the United States.  The C. V. Roman Medical Society, a local society of the NMA, is a community of physicians in the Dallas/Fort Worth area whose mission is to advance the art and science of medicine for people of African descent via education, advocacy, and health policy to promote health and wellness, eliminate health disparities and access to care, and sustain physician liability.  We encourage all interested physicians to become members of the local and national organization.
