President's statement

The National Medical Association (NMA) was founded in 1895 and will soon celebrate 125th year of existence. NMA continues to advocate for health disparities within our communities and remains the voice for African-American healthcare providers and many underserved populations in the nation. I am honored to serve during this celebratory year of our beloved organization and look forward to the NMA Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly which is scheduled to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, the birthplace of the organization, on August 1-5, 2020.

It was an honor to serve as Vice-President on the 2017-2019 Executive Board which chartered new waters in growing the C. V. Roman Medical Society organization. Due to the efforts our devoted members and the tireless dedication of that administration, we were recognized by our national organization at the Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly in Honolulu, Hawaii as the 2019 Large Medical Society of the Year.

The 2019-2021 Executive Board of the C.V. Roman Medical Society Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the NMA wish to continue the goals of the organization which are outreach, networking, education and scholarship. We hope to continue to build upon this platform in hopes to create a strong and thriving organization that our members and the Dallas-Fort Worth community will continue to be proud of in the future. We extend an invitation to new members to join us during our General Body Meetings on the 4th Thursday of every month. Your participation is critical to the success of our local organization and the success of the National Medical Association.
