About Us

The C.V. Roman Medical Society is the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the National Medical Association (NMA). Founded in 1895, the NMA is the oldest and largest organization representing Black and African American physicians and their patients in the United States.

“The C.V. Roman Medical Society is important to me because it is my home society and was a bedrock for my leadership development. It is an outstanding example of how a dynamic local chapter can impact a community with education, advocacy, and outreach.”

Dr. Yolanda Lawson, M.D., 124th President of the National Medical Association

Named in honor of physician and civil rights activist Dr. Charles Victor Roman, we’re providing solutions to address health disparities, sustain physician viability, and improve the health outcomes for members of our local community. Learn more about C.V. Roman’s legacy, our mission, and history.
