Legacy of Health: Honoring Our Past, Empowering the Future is an original video series created by the C.V. Roman Medical Society to preserve, uplift, and celebrate the rich history of Black physicians in Dallas.
Debuted at our 2025 Scholarship Gala, the first film in this ongoing series explores the powerful legacy of trailblazing physicians whose dedication opened doors for future generations. Through personal stories, historical reflections, and lived experiences, the series highlights Black medical excellence across all stages of the journey—from esteemed retirees to those actively shaping the field today, and the medical students preparing to lead tomorrow.
This project honors the path that has been forged, illuminates those carrying the torch, and inspires the next generation of healers. More stories and episodes will be added as we continue this vital work of documenting our shared legacy.
